 In 2011 Frances Fitzgerald TD was appointed Ireland's first ever Minister for Children and Youth Affairs. 

What is the Children's Strategy?

The National Children's Strategy; "Our Children - Their Lives" is a ten year plan published in 2000. It has three main goals; to give children a voice in matters which affect them (with their views being be given due weight in accordance with their age and maturity), to understand their lives better through evaluation and research and provide quality supports and services to promote their development.
