Adobe PDF format Report of the Public Consultation for the National Children's Strategy | © 2019

A critically important element in the development of the National Children's Strategy was to listen to what children and young poeple themselves had to say. This was an innovative and new approach in the formulation of Government policy. The response to the public consultation held was extremely positive and indicated a strong desire among children to be heard. In all, some 2,500 children and young people took the opportunity to give their views. Letters and submissions from their parents and others who love and care for them, as well as from the various agencies providing the necessary supports and services, yielded a wealth of ideas and proposals. This report summarises the views and suggestions put forward.
