Analysis of the Millennium Book: children and identity in postmodern Ireland.

PDF
AuthorPat O'Connor;Anne Lodge;Ciara Kane
AbstractThe objective of this study was to analyse a substantial stratified sample of the contributions written for possible inclusion in the Millennium Book. These texts provide valuable insight into young people’s life experiences, giving their views and analyses on education, family, relationships, community, and leisure pursuits. The texts also illustrate young people’s sense of citizenship, in terms of their appreciation of place, their awareness of heritage, their cultural focus, and their consciousness of a range of social justice issues. A summary of the report findings is online in the DoES report "Research and Development in Education Projects 1994-2000" section 5.8
