United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: Ireland's second report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child

Abstract	Ireland's second report to the UN on the Implementation of the Convention as required under Article 44 of the Convention. The report is made under the following headings: General measures of implementation; definition of the child; general principles; civil rights and freedoms; family environment and alternative care; basic health and welfare; education, leisure and cultural activities; special protection measures; consultation with the NGO sector. The single most significant development since the first report has been the publication of the National Children’s Strategy in 2000, entitled Our Children — Their Lives.
