PDF
AuthorPaul Surgenor;Gerry Shiel;Seán Close;David Millar
AbstractThe 2004 National Assessment of Mathematics Achievement (NAMA 2004) is the fifth in a series of national assessments of Mathematics in Irish primary schools, dating back to 1977, and the first since the introduction of the 1999 Primary School Curriculum:Mathematics (PSCM).1,2 Since an assessment of pupils’ achievement in Mathematics was carried out in Fourth class in 1999 using a test similar to that used in the current study, it was possible to compare performance in 1999 and 2004. This report summarises the findings and recommendations of the main report on NAMA 2004.
