Child Care Legislation

The Department is responsible for policy input into the development and amendment of legislation in relation to children. The main pieces of legislation include the:

• Child Care Act, 1991
• Children Act, 2001
• Child Care (Amendment) Act, 2007
• Child Care (Amendment) Act, 2011
• Adoption Act 2010
  

Other legislation that has an impact on child care are:
