116000 ‘Missing Children’ Hotline

The Missing Children Hotline in Ireland is operated by the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) with support from DCYA. Following a phased implementation the Hotline became a full-time 24/7 service in 2013.

The Hotline:
•    Provides emotional support to children who are missing, their families and others responsible for the missing child
•    Offers guidance and advice
•    Reports risk cases to the Gardaí/Tusla, and
•    Supports Garda investigations, where appropriate

The Hotline can be reached on 116000.

It is important to note that the 116000 number is not an emergency number. Emergency calls should always be directed to 999/112 in the first instance.
